Common Tasks Count

We know that adding exercise to our lifestyle will make us healthier and burn extra calories, but what if we are too busy doing all the things we need to do to keep our house clean or yard neat or even shopping?

Well I have good news for you! Those common tasks count toward your burned calorie goal!  See, if we can burn at least 500 extra calories every day, then the weight will start to come off. Below are some calories burned for some of those common tasks we do every day.

Mowing the lawn by pushing a non-self propelled mower, not riding a lawn tractor with a cold one in your hand,  for 60 minutes will burn 405 calories.

Doing housework like washing floors, doing laundry, dusting, etc, for 60 minutes will burn 169 calories.

Gardening, planting flowers, running a string trimmer, raking leaves , etc,  for 60 minutes will burn 169 calories.

Grocery shopping, mall shopping where your walking at about 2 MPH  for 30 minutes will burn 89 calories.

How about a 45 minute Pilates or Yoga class? 202 calories burned.

Taking that someone special dancing? 20 min of slow dancing burns 67 calories, 20 minutes of fast dancing burns 124 calories.

OK. The Big Question. How many calories do you burn having sex? That depends on what you and your partner are doing and for how long. For the break down on how many calories burned for what, check this article at womansday.com.

Just tell your spouse that last one is cheaper than a gym membership and a whole lot more fun!
